Overview

Timbabuild® EHB Duo is a professional two-part, solvent-free epoxy wood filler for repairing large areas of damaged and rotten timber. Using the same trusted high-build formula as EHB60, the Duo cartridge system allows easy use with any standard skeleton sealant gun - no specialist dispensing tool required.

Its thixotropic, non-slump formula is ideal for vertical and overhead repairs, offering a 30-minute working time for accurate shaping before curing to a strong, durable finish. It can then be sanded and finished to match surrounding timber.

  • Same performance as EHB60
  • Works with any basic silicone gun
  • Designed for horizontal & vertical applications
  • 30-minute working time for shaping and profiling
  • 2 Year shelf life
  • Base + Activator pack - 180ml each

Preparation

Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and sound before beginning the repair.

  • Remove all loose, decayed or weakened timber and prepare the substrate as detailed in the Timbabuild EWS Primer System data sheet. For best results, prime the repair area with Timbabuild EWS Primer System before applying EHB Duo Professional.
  • To prepare the filler, place the green-capped Base cartridge into a standard skeleton sealant gun and dispense the required amount onto a clean mixing board. This should make up half of the total filler required. Replace the cap immediately after dispensing.
  • Next, load the red-capped Activator cartridge into the sealant gun and dispense an equal volume alongside the Base component. Maintaining an accurate 1:1 mixing ratio is essential for correct curing and performance. Replace the cap immediately after use.
  • Using a spatula or filling knife, mix the two components thoroughly until a smooth, uniform, streak-free colour is achieved. During mixing, scrape the material from both the mixing board and the tool at least once to ensure the Base and Activator are fully blended before application.
  • Application

All surfaces should be clean and sound. Ensure the wood has a moisture content of 18% or less before application.

    • For optimum adhesion, prime the repair area with Timbabuild EWS Primer System. See preparation information on Timbabuild EWS data sheet prior to application of Timbabuild Wood Repair Systems.
    • Mix the two components at a 2:1 ratio in a separate container and stir thoroughly for one minute. Apply the primer evenly to the bare timber with a brush and allow it to soak into the wood.
    • Apply EHB Duo Professional after approximately 20 minutes, while the primer is still wet but before it has fully cured (within around 4 hours).
    • Using a spatula, filling knife or similar tool, spread a thin layer of EHB Duo Professional over the exposed timber to eliminate trapped air. Build up the repair by pressing the filler firmly into the cavity, leaving it slightly proud of the surface for finishing.
    • Alternatively, a clean, flexible sheet of plastic can be placed over the filler to act as temporary shuttering, creating a smooth, even finish. Once fully cured, remove the plastic and sand, shape or finish the repair to match the surrounding timber.
    • For detailed guidance on timber preparation and repair techniques, refer to the Timbabuild Repair Guide. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the packaging.
