Overview
Dulux Trade Ultra Matt Interior Walls is a premium water-based paint formulated to create a flawless dead flat matt finish with an ultra-low sheen of just 1–2%, helping to minimise surface imperfections and reduce light reflection.
Ideal for interior walls, it provides exceptional opacity, excellent coverage and a tough Class 1 durable finish for long-lasting performance. Its outstanding touch-up properties make maintenance simple, while the washable, wipeable surface is perfect for high-traffic areas.
Supplied in White, this advanced formulation is also 99.9% VOC free, making it an excellent choice for creating healthier indoor environments without compromising on professional results.

Preparation
For best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry. It is particularly important that new surfaces are completely dry before you start painting.
- Remove all loose and defective paint. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
- Where necessary, wash the surface, rinse with clean water and allow to dry.
- Seal surfaces that remain powdery after thorough preparation with an appropriate plaster sealer.
- Where necessary, rub down and then wipe off with a damp, lint free cloth to avoid dust.
- Fill any gaps with an appropriate filler such as Polycell Trade Polyfilla.

Application
Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results.
- Ensure the paint is thoroughly stirred prior to application.
- On new or bare surfaces, apply a sealing coat thinned with up to 1 part clean water to 5 parts paint.
- Apply by brush, roller or airless spray. For most projects, apply 2 full coats for a durable, even finish, although additional coats may be needed when covering strong colour changes.
- For the best results, avoid application in temperatures below 8°C and maintain a wet edge by cutting in and rolling each wall immediately to minimise picture framing or patchy finishes.
- For standard application, the paint can be thinned with up to 1 part clean water to 10 parts paint if required.
- For airless spraying, thin with up to 1 part clean water to 5 parts paint and use a 515 low-pressure spray tip at 1300–1700 psi (89–117 bar), or a standard 515 tip at 2000–2400 psi (138–165 bar).
