Overview

Bradite HD Floor + Wall EW99 is a heavy-duty, two-pack water-based epoxy coating designed for interior floors and walls in demanding commercial and industrial environments.

Suitable for concrete, steel, ceramic and terracotta tiles, it provides a tough, chemical-resistant, easy-to-clean gloss finish, making it ideal for high-traffic and hygiene-sensitive environments such as warehouses, hospitals, food preparation areas, breweries and bakeries.

Virtually odour-free during use and capable of withstanding power washing when fully cured, it can also be combined with Bradite Low Slip Additive to improve grip in high-risk areas.

  • Easy-to-clean, chemical-resistant finish
  • Smooth finish or Anti-slip if paired with Low Slip Additive LS30

Preparation

Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, sound and free from dust, grease, oil, wax and any loose or flaking material before painting.

Floor Preparation

  • All surfaces must be dry. Ensure concrete is fully cured, dry and free from laitance before coating.
  • Power-floated, shiny or unpainted, nonporous concrete floors should be vacuum blast cleaned to a 30–50 micron profile or etched using Bradite TA37 Acid Etch.
  • Remove all loose coatings and contamination using high-pressure water cleaning.
  • Clean grease and oil with Bradite TD39 Industrial Degreaser. Repeat cleaning if required to remove stubborn contamination.
  • Lightly abrade sound existing coatings and feather the edges of repaired areas.
  • Repair cracks, holes and surface defects using a suitable screed or mortar before painting.

Wall Preparation

  • Ensure new plaster is fully cured before application.
  • Fill cracks and surface imperfections with a suitable filler.
  • Remove all loose or flaking paint back to a sound substrate.
  • Abrade high-gloss surfaces to provide a suitable key for adhesion.
  • Clean grease and oil using Bradite TD39 Industrial Degreaser, then wash and rinse thoroughly.
  • Ensure all surfaces are completely dry and dust free before painting.

For full preparation requirements and substrate-specific guidance, please refer to the Technical Datasheet.

Application

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results. The application should always conform to the codes of practice described in BS 6150 and BS 5493.

Mixing:

All materials should be mixed before use. Two-pack materials should be completely mixed beforeuse. Do not mix old or pre- catalysed paints with new stock. The use of a mechanical mixer is always preferred. In the case of two-pack materials, take care not to mix more than what can be used before the pot-life has expired. Mixing ratio: 2:1 (eg: 3 Litre base pack + 1.5 Litre activator pack)

Thinning:

Only use those thinners recommended, not exceeding the proportions as specified. Thinners should only be added to two-pack products after mixing. Oil based decorative paints may be thinned with White Spirit. Decorative emulsion paints may be thinned with water.

  • Apply by brush or roller on concrete.
  • Thin the first coat of Bradite HD Floor + Wall 20% with clean water. This allows it to penetrate the prepared porous substrate and promote adhesion.
  • Apply 1 or 2 further full coats as required. (2 further coats would usually be recommended on bare concrete or wood.)
  • Bradite HD Floor + Wall EW99 paint will be touch dry in 3 hours at 20°C, but a minimum of 14 hours should be allowed before overcoating.
  • The finished floor can be subjected to light traffic after 48 hours, but it will take 7 days to fully harden.

Always follow manufacturer's instructions found on the packaging. Find more information on the technical datasheet.
