Overview

A water-based, opulent metallic paint ideal for wood, brick, stone, or plaster with exceptional coverage and virtually no odour. This smooth finish paint can be used as a topcoat or as a base coat under Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint for a distressed look.

Preparation

Ensure the surface to be painted is free from dust, debris, wax, polish, oil or any other surface contaminants.

• If wax or polish has been used clean the surface thoroughly with white spirit
• Bare wood should be sanded prior to painting to create a key
• This product is not a stain block, prime any surface where stain blocking is needed including wood surfaces with knots
• Prime any bare metal surfaces prior to painting

Application

Always perform a test on a small area first to check adhesion and compatibility.

• Stir paint well before use
• If using a roller we recommend a short mohair roller
• Apply evenly following the direction of the grain
• Allow to dry for 4 hours before applying the second coat

For a Distressed Look:

• Apply one coat as above with the metallic paint
• Once the base coat is dry apply Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint
• Allow to dry for 4 hours
• Lightly abrade with moistened sandpaper or a stainless steel scouring pad, always abrade in the direction of the grain
