Overview
Owatrol PCD 91 is a water-based end grain preservative designed to protect pressure-treated wood from decay and insect attack. Specially formulated for wood treated to classes 3 and 4, it ensures that exposed cut, bored, or notched ends remain durable and fully preserved. Its high wetting properties allow deep penetration, maintaining the integrity of the wood over time.
Available in Green and Clear, PCD 91 is ready to use and easy to apply, whether in the workshop or on-site. Its versatile formulation makes it suitable for a wide range of outdoor timber applications, including decking, cladding, and garden furniture.

Preparation
Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned, dry, and free from dirt, grease, grime, or any previous coatings or finishes. Ensure all dust, loose fibres, or residues are removed to allow maximum penetration and effectiveness of the preservative.
Application
Owatrol PCD 91 is a water-based end grain preservative designed to protect exposed, cut, bored, or notched ends of pressure-treated wood. Follow these instructions to ensure maximum performance.
Conditions & Preparation
- Apply at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C.
- Shake gently to avoid frothing or stir thoroughly before and during application.
- Do not dilute.
- Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust, dirt, grease, grime, or previous coatings.
Application Methods
- Brush, Roller, or Spray: Apply a liberal, saturating coat to all exposed cut, bored, or notched ends. Wipe off any drips or runs and allow to dry.
- Dipping: Soak wood for 5 minutes, drain excess preservative, and allow to dry.
Post-Application & Finishing
- PCD 91 is a preservative only and does not replace a finishing coat.
- After 48 hours of drying, pressure-treated wood should be finished with SEASONITE or another suitable OWATROL product to protect against weathering, greying, splitting, and warping.
- Compatible with all 1-pack and 2-pack finishes.

Aftercare & Storage
Keep from freezing and high temperatures. Store in original container.
