HB42 Premium Decorators Caulk - White - 380ml
Overview
HB42 Ultimate Decorators Caulk has over double the flexibility of leading caulk brands at 12.5%, making it significantly more resistant to movement and longer-lasting than standard decorators caulks. It's a one-part emulsion material that sets on exposure to the atmosphere, forming a durable, flexible seal that fills gaps deeper and wider - and can be overpainted in as little as 1 hour.
Suitable for internal or external use, HB42 Ultimate Decorators Caulk contains a fungicide to discourage mould growth, keeping seals cleaner for longer. It's CE marked and conforms to EN ISO 11600 F 12.5P, and to BS EN 15651 as a Type F-EXT-INT perimeter frame and joint sealant.

Preparation
- Ensure surfaces are clean and free from loose material, standing water or contaminants that could impair the bond.
- Clean non-porous surfaces such as aluminium with a suitable cleaning product.
- For joints subject to movement (e.g. construction joints), ensure minimum dimensions of 6mm x 6mm, with a maximum of 25mm wide by 12mm deep.
- Use a suitable backer rod to reduce depth in deeper joints.
- For perimeter pointing where a fillet is to be applied, ensure a minimum measurement of 10mm across with a minimum depth of 6mm.
Application
- Ensure joints are properly prepared before application.
- Apply the caulk firmly into the joint using an application gun, ensuring a good, solid fill.
- Tool the caulk to the required finish once applied.
- Apply slightly proud of the required level, as a degree of natural shrinkage will occur during drying.
- Overpaint after approximately 1 hour, once tack free.
Tip: Since some shrinkage occurs as the caulk dries, apply it slightly proud of the surrounding surface for the neatest finished result.
Aftercare & Storage
- Allow the caulk to become tack free (15 minutes to 1 hour depending on conditions) before disturbing the surface.
- Optimum performance is achieved within 1 week, depending on joint dimensions and ambient conditions.
- Avoid exposing the sealant to sub-zero temperatures during curing, as this can affect the emulsion system.
- Once cured, the fungicide content helps discourage mould growth in the sealed joint.
Clean Up
- Clean surrounding surfaces and tools with water while the caulk is still wet.
- Wipe away excess uncured material promptly with a damp cloth.
- Once cured, the caulk will need to be removed mechanically, such as by scraping.
Storage
Store in dry conditions between 5°C and 25°C. Protect from frost.
