Overview

Bradite Floor-It DP9 is a fast-drying, water-based acrylic floor paint perfect for garages, workshops, factories and light industrial areas. It is also suitable for kitchens, bathrooms and staircases.

Re-coatable in just 1 hour and ready for light foot traffic in 16 hours, it provides a durable semi-gloss finish with excellent adhesion to concrete, wood, metal, asphalt and previously painted floors. Its virtually odourless, non-yellowing, stain and petrol-resistant formula is suitable for both interior and exterior use, making it ideal for fast refurbishment projects with minimal disruption.

Tinted Colour Information

Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Bradite tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order.

Preparation

Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust before painting.

• Concrete must be fully cured, dry and free from laitance. Remove all loose concrete, dust and repair damaged areas before coating.
• Power-floated, smooth or non-porous concrete should be vacuum blast cleaned to a 30–50 micron profile or etched using Bradite TA37 Acid Etch.
• Remove loose or flaking paint and surface contamination using high-pressure water cleaning back to a sound substrate.
• Clean grease and oil with Bradite TD39 Industrial Degreaser. Repeat cleaning if necessary to remove stubborn contamination.
• Key existing sound coatings by sanding or abrasive disc rubbing and feather the edges of any remaining paint.
• Fill cracks, pits and surface defects with a suitable screed or repair mortar before applying the coating.

Application

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results. The application should always conform to the codes of practice described in BS 6150 and BS 5493.

• Ensure the paint is thoroughly stirred prior to application.
• Floor-It is a single pack product, supplied ready for use. If required, thin with up to 5% water for brush or roller application.
• On concrete, wood and other absorbent surfaces, thin the first coat with 5–10% clean water to improve penetration.
• Apply two further full coats of Bradite Floor-It DP9 for maximum durability.
• For maintenance, only touch up bare or damaged areas before applying additional coats if required.
• Allow overnight drying before light foot traffic. Avoid heavy traffic for at least 48 hours.
• Full cure is achieved in approximately 3–7 days at 20°C. Drying times will vary depending on temperature, humidity and film thickness.
• For garage floors, avoid parking vehicles with hot tyres on the coating for the first 7 days to reduce the risk of tyre pick-up.
• Clean up petrol and diesel spills promptly, and avoid contact with brake fluid as it can permanently damage the paint finish.

Low Slip Option: Compatible with Bradite Low Slip Additive LS30 for improved slip resistance.

Mixing LS30: Add one 250ml (400g) tin of LS30 per 5 litres of paint and mix thoroughly immediately before application. Refer to the technical data sheet for full guidance.

Airless spray: Thin with 5-15% water as required, tip size - 18 thou (0.46mm) approximately, tip pressure - 2100 psi (15MPa) approximately.(Guidelines only).

Conventional Air Spray: Thin with 5-15% Water as required, tip size - 2.0mm, tip pressure 60psi (0.4MPa) approximately. (Guidelines only).

Note: If using more than one tin of the same colour, intermix prior to use to ensure colour consistency. Check tinted product before application to avoid colour differences.
